Prepared Instruction
Lessons are guided by a clear developmental framework rather than improvisation alone.
ABOUT TRIDENT
Trident was created to deliver a more intentional lesson experience built around strong instruction, meaningful progress, and clear family communication.
WHY TRIDENT EXISTS
Too often, swim instruction becomes a cycle of attendance without enough clarity around what the swimmer is building, why a skill matters, or what comes next.
Trident combines small classes, structured progression, individualized instruction, clear progress language, and consistent family communication so lessons feel purposeful rather than generic.
THE FOUNDER
Colby brings together approximately a decade of aquatics experience, a competitive swimming background, and professional experience teaching elementary-age children as a Physical Education teacher.
His aquatics work has included swim instruction, lifeguarding, supervision, lesson management, pool operations, private family instruction, and youth programming. Across his instructional career, he has taught well over 2,000 swimmers with a wide range of ages, abilities, confidence levels, learning styles, and goals.
Trident grew from the belief that strong instruction should be both technically thoughtful and genuinely responsive to the individual swimmer.
WHAT FAMILIES SHOULD EXPECT
Lessons are guided by a clear developmental framework rather than improvisation alone.
Families should understand what is going well, what is still developing, and what comes next.
Safety is treated as a core part of learning, not as an afterthought.
Swimmers are challenged thoughtfully without being forced into a pace that does not fit.
